Miss Brittani and Miss Chelsea will lead our two Early Childhood Classrooms this Fall with the help of Miss Hansen and Miss Savord, who will share the Early Childhood Director's Position. Miss Hansen has a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, and Miss Savord spent over a decade teaching in Early Childhood Classrooms. These teachers look forward to using their combined experience to bring some innovative changes to our Early Childhood program.
Miss Brittani lives in Norway with her three daughters and their dog, Greta. She enjoys spending time with her children, swimming, and going to the beach. Miss Brittani also enjoys sharing her love of animals with her children, mainly at the barn where their pony lives! Before joining us, she worked in a daycare/preschool setting.
Miss Chelsea grew up in Quinnesec and now lives in Iron Mountain. She and her fiance will be getting married in May! Miss Chelsea is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education through North Central Technical College. In 2018, Miss Chelsea became an EMT-B and worked for an emergency service company in Iron Mountain. She felt called to teaching and made the career change at the beginning of 2022. She has worked for an early childhood center in Iron Mountain and looks forward to transitioning into Holy Spirit’s Early Childhood Program.
Mrs. Dowdle has worked in the Early Childhood and Special Needs fields for twenty-two years. She has been married 39 years to her husband Ter, has two grown boys, and an English Cream Retriever named Bella. She and Ter live on a ten-acre plot outside Iron Mountain, where they appreciate nature. Mrs. Dowdle enjoys gardening, reading, being outdoors, and doing various arts and crafts, including sewing. Mrs. Dowdle's biggest passion is working with children, and she looks forrward to meeting her new students and families.
We congratulate longtime employee Miss Mel, on her transition to a new position at Holy Spirit. Miss Mel has spent much of her twenty-two years at HSCS as an aide in the Preschool room. While Miss Mel will still spend time with the Early Childhood classrooms, she will also be maintaining other rooms and assisting in the safety and upkeep of our school.
